About Us

Meet Lindsey

Hi, my name is Lindsey! I’m the founder and lead educator of Aligned Academics. I’m so glad you’re here!

I live in sunny Florida, a place I love (though I spent seven years in California during my twenties and still miss it!).

My teaching journey began at age 13, coaching rhythmic gymnastics—a passion sparked by my love for those floating ribbons and sparkly leotards. Over time, my love for coaching gymnasts evolved into helping students develop their reading skills.

In my free time, I enjoy keeping my four cats happy, reading true stories, visiting quaint tea rooms, and most recently, taking an adult gymnastics class.

How we meet the needs of learners who have dyslexia

The good news

Your child isn’t just lazy.

With the right instruction, almost all individuals with dyslexia can learn to read.

Your child is not unintelligent.

Dyslexia has no relationship to intelligence- individuals who have dyslexia are neither more nor less intelligent than the general population (IDA).

Your child doesn’t have to struggle forever.

Whether your child has been diagnosed with or is suspected of having dyslexia, Aligned Academics can help. A structured approach to literacy instruction can help all readers, not just those who have a diagnosis of a specific learning disability, like dyslexia.

Mission and Vision

Mission

Whether supporting families directly or equipping them with resources, our mission is to build confident, capable readers and writers. Through structured, research-aligned instruction, we strengthen the cognitive foundations of literacy while guiding each child toward independence—and maybe even a love for reading along the way.

Vision

To see every child grow into a confident, independent reader and writer.
