Diagnostic instruction in that the provider continuously monitors the verbal, nonverbal, and written responses of the learner to identify problems and analyze progress
Prescriptive instruction in that the provider isolates the learners areas of greatest need and focuses on resolving those difficulties and then building on the learner’s progress
Emotionally sound instruction that builds confidence and trust by ensuring the learner achieves regular success

How we meet the needs of learners who have dyslexia

Learners who have dyslexia have difficulty with the use and processing of the English language, which includes arbitrary linguistic and symbolic codes. This exists on a language continuum which includes spoken and written language, and language comprehension.
Language is the critical tool upon which further academic learning is based, therefore difficulty can occur in all educational endeavors.
There is no cure for dyslexia; it is not something that a learner can be remediated out of, but early and intensive intervention can help close the gap.
